Surfer Dies at Ghost Tree’s in Monterey County on Tuesday, December 4, 2007

The first huge swell of the year claimed the life of a noted big wave surfer, Peter Davi, 45, of Monterey, CA, on Tues., Dec. 4th. Davi was surfing 20+ foot waves at Pebble Beach’s Ghost Tree’s when he lost his board. According to news sources, witnesses spotted Davi trying to swim to shore when he disappeared from sight.

His body was found floating in the water in the early afternoon and revival attempts failed.
