Saturday, July 24, 2004
at Manresa State Beach

Press Release

(July 22, 2004) Pacifica, CA -- GirlsAdventureOUT and Billabong bring you Surf Camp With the Pros at Manresa State Beach on Saturday, July 24th, 2004. The biggest names in the Billabong women's lineup -- Keala Kennelly, Tara Dakides, Belen Connelly, Connie Arias, Alana Brennan, Molli Miller, Anastasia Ashley and Sanoe Lake -- will be on hand to offer personalized surfing tips, as well as sign autographs and give away the latest Billabong gear. This clinic is the ultimate invitation for girls and women to learn to surf. Experience the thrill of riding beautiful Northern California waves alongside our experienced guides and Billabong Pro surfers.

Surf Camp - July 24th

Before heading out into the water, we will start with land lessons that will cover the basics: surfing etiquette, water safety, and proper board positioning and takeoff technique. The rest of the clinic will be spent in the ocean catching waves. The surf camp includes two hours of instruction and all equipment. Company co-founder Claudie Silver proclaimed, "This is a great opportunity for GirlsAdventureOUT to empower more girls in the water, as well as offer them super training from Pro Surfers! It is a chance of a lifetime for all of those girls out there who dream of living the surfer's life- right in their own backyard!"

Our goal for the camp is to ensure that the pros spend hands-on time with each and every participant, offering personalized surfing tips and an insight to the surfing lifestyle. President, CEO and co-founder JudeAnn Smith said, "GirlsAdventureOUT is committed to giving women and girls who are interested in challenging themselves the opportunity to take surfing and their individual aspirations to the next level. Empowerment is the name of the game and especially something that both Billabong and GAO sincerely believe in." And Junior Marketing Manager for Billabong, Amy Botts said, "We contacted GAO because we really thought their mission was inline with ours. We both aim to bring more girls to the sport of surfing!"

Who We Are

Founded in 2002, GirlsAdventureOUT started as a company that offered adventure trips and clinics exclusively to women. Over the course our first year in business, we had a number of inquiries that lead us to broaden our reach to men, children, and educational institutions. In April of 2003, we announced the expansion of our outdoor offerings to all, while continuing to offer clinics and adventures exclusively for women. Our mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of all women, men and children, through community-oriented outdoor recreational activities. We are committed to assisting individuals in achieving their wildest adventures as they build new friendships, challenge their limits, and unwind their spirits.
