| D. Patton saw a large shark while surfing Martin's Beach recently. Here's his account: "I was surfing this Sunday with a friend and about 5 other surfers... I saw a shark swim into the cove. I paddled onto the reef when I heard everyone shouting from outside where the shark buzzed the lineup apparently unconcerned with the human bait. Everyone screamed then dry-docked themselves on the beach. Locals tried to convince us there were dolphins in the area earlier, and that is what I probably saw. I have been surfing Nor Cal for 15 years and open ocean fishing for longer; I know exactly what I saw and it was a 10-14 foot great white, not a dolphin. (11/13/05)
