| Of Wind and Waves: The Life of Woody Brown will be playing at the Red Vic Movie House in San Francisco's Upper Haight district through December 3, and then showing at San Rafael's Smith Rafael Film Center from December 5 through 7. The filmmaker, David Brown, will be present at all screenings to answer questions. This film is an award-winning look at the remarkable 94-year old legend in the worlds of surfing, sailing and soaring. A Maui resident, Woody has lived a life of remarkable adventure and accomplishment, including inventing the modern catamaran, setting world gliding records, and surfing Hawaii's 25-foot surf in the 1940's. He has also lived with a kind of selflessness and generosity that have made him an inspiring role model for generations of Hawaiians. The fantastic Bay Area Hula Troupe will be performing before all Smith Rafael Film Center screening, and Jeffrey Sellon, Woody's son, will be attending on Thurs., 12/7.
