On Tues., Oct. 2nd, a ceremony was held to honor the three men who rescued surfer Todd Endris after a great white shark attack at Marina State Beach on August 28. More details about the ceremony and the shark attack itself (a pod of dolphins seemed to take part in stopping the attack) may be read in a Monterey Herald story.

I leave 5 minutes from the beach, often I go just to hang out. I often see Todd out surfing. I have seen his scars, they cover nearly all of his back torso. He looks good. I remember hearing of the incident form the owner of the local pet/aquarium store. I was shocked. Todd happened to be in the store one time before the incident, i was to have my puppies nails cut he was there cleaning their tanks i think Todd held my dog while her nails where getting done. Very kind sweet guy, I was nervous and he helped the owner out me too.
PS Those pods of dolphins are often here at Marina State Beach, see the regularly playing in the waves.
