Original Skateboards, Pintail 38 Complete Longboard

When it comes to throwing concrete spray, you can consider me a connoisseur. Skating since I was 8, sidewalk surfing since I was 12. I have been chasing the concrete tube since before I got a real in ‘n out.

We live in an age of design. Pushing the limits of what is possible through higher engineering. The skateboard has had several evolutionary hurdles. First, polyurethane wheels, then the fish tails and copers, and even small, hard wheels for street tricks…flippin. But now, in this “age of retro,” we find ourselves coming full circle in the urge to carve.

Trucks. Let’s face it, advances have been made. Carving has been taken to new heights with recent designs. Carveboards introduced me to the spring coil concept, with which I am heavily enamored. When I saw my buddy’s new Original Skateboards deck with this sick pair of trucks on it, I had to know how it worked.

“Check this board out, I need to do a review on it...” He’s an online web guy with the right connections. Good to know.

“Hey, I’m going to Mammo next weekend, how about I give it a try,” I threw out.

“Go for it.”

Three days later, the 65mm 78a’s had met their match. We took it down 4.1 miles of twisting Eastern Sierra plateau on the late morning, sun-soaked pavement. It turns out that Original makes high performance wheels for just such abuse, but these cruiser wheels didn’t stand a chance…

65mm 78a's after the Eastern Sierra product test

This skateboard is sick:

  • NO wheel bite
  • SUPER tight radius carving turns
  • Pintail design deck for endless foot angle experimentation on the tail if you like to let it slide out instead.

I threw so much concrete over the edge of that road going white line to white line I should have to pay extra taxes. This board carves, and carves hard and long, or short and snappy—whatever your pleasure.

Bearl says, “Check it out.”
