On Wed., Feb. 21st, Santa Cruz surfer Mike Locatelli passed away at the age of 46. A note from his Ride a Wave (RAW) family:

It is with a heavy heart that we pass on to our friends in the RAW family news of great sadness. For those that have not heard yet, our companion in life, Mike Locatelli, passed away on Wednesday, peacefully in his home.

Mike was a mentor to everyone in the RAW family, with his infectious laugh and amazing waterman skills. He provided great leadership, and brought strong organizational abilities to the RAW advisory board, and will not be replaceable.  His subtle observations about life would provide great insight into humanity, while bringing smiles to everyone around him.
