Timmy Turner's Documentary Film The Tsunami Diaries in San Francisco on Wedensday, May 23, 2007

On Wed., May 23rd at 7:30 P. M., Aqua Surf Shop and Wavefest present a screening and discussion of surf explorer Timmy Turner's documentary film The Tsunami Diaries.

Renowned surf explorer Timmy Turner and his friends respond to the devastation of the 2004 Tsunami by launching a spontaneous relief effort to help the villagers of the outermost islands of Indonesia. A diverse group comes together with the common goal of aiding others. This is a frontline documentary of their valiant and courageous efforts, and a testimony to the universal spirit of people helping one another.

This is not a surf movie, this is a movie about surfers giving back. Timmy will lead a discussion and answer your questions giving you the ultimate insider's perspective on how the Tsunami affected Indonesia, and how we can all use our individual talents to help others through such times.

The screening will be held at:

The Women's Building
3543 18th St., San Francisco (in the Mission District)

Tickets are $8 to $10 sliding scale and are available at the door and both Aqua Surf Shops.

There will also be a raffle and a trailer to Turner's new film, Cold Thoughts.

An after-screening party will be held at Dalva, 3121 16th Street (between Valencia and Guerrero) in San Francisco.
