Coastal Cleanup Day Options on Saturday, September 20, 2008

Yeah, yeah, yeah, you keep saying you'll volunteer for a beach cleanup sometime this year. Well, here's the day for you! Coastal Cleanup Day is TOMORROW, Sat., Sept. 20th.

OPTION 1: San Mateo County
Poplar Beach in Half Moon Bay

Look for the Surfrider table in the Poplar Beach parking lot. Please wear comfortable clothes, closed-toe shoes and sunscreen. Bring gardening or work gloves, or, we are happy to provide you with latex gloves. We also provide the bags, hand sanitizer, and other essentials for cleaning up trash.

All volunteers are welcome to participate and must sign a liability waiver, but volunteers under 18 MUST have a parent or guardian, present at the beginning of the cleanup, sign the waiver before the minor can participate.

Pre-registration is NOT required unless your group has more than 20 people.

For more info, catch a wave via Surfrider San Mateo County webpage.

OPTION 2: San Francisco County
Surfrider SF Chapter website states that there will be various locations at Ocean Beach. So, just head on down to your favorite spot and find Surfrider. And if they're not there, just pick up some trash on your own! It is YOUR spot after all!

OPTION 3: Marin County
The Marin Independent Journal lists a bunch of cleanup sites in Marin County.

OTHER OPTIONS
Visit the California Coastal Commission website!
