Point Break LIVE!, the Brechtian blockbuster which garnered a “Seattle P-I Best of Seattle 2004″ award, as well as rave reviews across the nation, tells the story of former college football star Johnny Utah—Keanu Reeves in the film—who goes in pursuit of the surfing, bankrobbing, skydiving, bare-hand-fighting adrenaline-junkie-cum-Zen-master Bodhi Sattva. The show features armed robbery, big-wave surfing, car chases, explosions, and no less than two extended skydiving sequences.
Best of all, the starring role of Keanu will be selected at random from the audience each night, with the lucky winner reading their entire script off of cue-cards. This method manages to capture the rawness of a Keanu Reeves performance even from those who generally think themselves incapable of acting.
SurfPulse hears that this theater experience is a hoot.
Point Break Live! is playing at Cell Space, 2050 Bryant Street (between 18th and 19th Streets). The show opened on March 13 and has an open run.

This show is hilarious. Saw it last time it was in SF. Make sure you watch the movie (again) before you go. It’ll be that much funnier.
Definitely do yourself a favor and see this. And as Steve recommends, it’s helpful to get a refresher on the movie before.
I saw the show last Friday and unfortunately, it sucked.
Jim, did you get a bad Keanu? I could see how that could make it hit or miss.
dude- no way! I was there last friday. It ruled. Keanu was amazing! The chase scene video!!? so good! Are you just crying because you didn’t pay the dollar for the poncho and then got soaked? Seriously- do yourselves all a favor. See this thing. Line was around the block and well worth it.
Saw this last time they were in town… Hilarious! Don’t miss it…
“I’ve been to every town in Mexico, came across an unclaimed piece of meat in Baja, turned out to be Rosy. Guess he picked a knife fight with somebody better. Found your passport in Sumatra, missed you by a week in Fiji. But I knew you wouldn’t miss {Point Break Live} Body…”
Heard good things about it. Went in with an open mind. Got the survival kit. Tried to enjoy it. Just thought it was stupid and embarrassing.
Now I get it. This is not the same cast as last time around. I know one of the surfers from the last run, Boner. He told me they got an all new cast and they bring up the guy to play Bodhi every week from Los Angeles. That’s so lame. We have great actors and real surfers right here. The producers are arrogant Hollywood capitalists . They just want to take our money because last time around they made bank up here with a 6 month run of sellout shows. I recommend staying away from this show and renting the movie. do not give your money to Hollywood losers. I’m just saying……….
jim. hi – i’m a member of the cast. we are all locals. we all surf OB. we all shred kelly’s. the new bodhi is replacing the old bodhi who unfortunantely resigned a week after the show opened. the show barely makes enough money to stay afloat. no members of the previous cast returned because they couldn’t commit to the show.
complaining on the internet is like winning the special olympics. people might pay attention but you’re still retarded.
Hi “Jim” – We know who you are. You are that psycho actor we had to fire from the show who is now obsessed with bringing it down. That is pretty pathetic but not atypical behavior for you. But I didn’t think that you’d be so stupid as to use your trademark phrase- I’m just saying…….To everyone else, this guy is a fraud- and a scary one at that. And “Jim” if you don’t stop with the viciously negative comments about PBL that you are posting everywhere, we will expose your true identity and you will be sorry.
Wow, all you people sound like a bunch of whining teenagers. By the way, I was in the show last year. Things change so let’s grow up and move on, shall we people.
I got a buddy in the show @ Cell Space and he told me to get tix online here. Where do I go next? Thanks. Sean.
