Earlier this year, the United Nations issued an official resolution designating June 8, 2009 as the first annual World Oceans Day. Join the Academy’s scientists—and its thousands of aquatic residents—to celebrate this international event with a suite of special programs from June 4–16. Enjoy ocean-themed activities (June 6), participate in a beach clean-up (June 7 at Ocean Beach/Judah Street from 10:00 AM to noon, check in starts at 9:30 AM), catch the debut of the first ever webcam on the Farallon National Wildlife Refuge (June 8), and much more.
