The Coast Guard rescued the missing surfer on Fri., June 19. He was found in a cove a couple of hours after his disappearance in the surf. You can read the Coast Guard’s press release for more details.
The Half Moon Bay Review has reported that a surfer went missing in heavy surf at Pomponio Beach on Fri., June 19 at approximately 5:30 PM.
Rescue teams aided in efforts to find the surfer, but he was not found by nightfall.
