Happy 4th of July! Unfortunately the ocean is looking like all its fireworks have sizzled out leaving us with some slow burning embers as remnants. At the moment we have a moderate breeze out of the west creating some texture and chop out there with waist to shoulder high waves sort of lazily crumbling away. On occasion, a fast, little crumbling, chopped filled shoulder makes an appearance to snag, but just like going to a fireworks show in the fog, all the effort getting there is not really worth the reward. However, if you have nothing going on and plan on eating your body weight in food this weekend, than a little paddle this morning may not be a bad idea. The surf is definitely on the poorish side of the spectrum, but rideable in an Ocean Beach, desperate summer sort of way. Have a nice holiday.
