The following report of a shark sighting at Linda Mar in Pacifica is courtesy of the Shark Research Committee:
Linda Mar Beach — On June 27, 2009, Zack Ehrlich was surfing at Linda Mar Beach, Pacifica by Crespi. It was 12:45 PM under a sunny sky with a temperature of about 70 degrees Fahrenheit. He was about 100 yards from shore. Ehrlich reported the following: “No other marine mammals were observed in the area. The seal was already dead when I saw the shark 15 minutes later. Did not look like a dolphin fin or a live seal. I was about 30 or 40 yards away from it. I saw the tip of a dorsal fin scrape through the water. The shark seemed to be feeding upon the dead seal carcass I saw earlier.”
Please report any shark sighting, encounter, or attack to the Shark Research Committee.

i miss all the links from the old web site. what good is a colored wind bar graph to a colorblind male.
thats crazy i surf lindie all the time and have never seen anything like it.
not crazy at all evan. I actually have footage of about 3 sharks feeding on a carcass that I filmed about 6-7 years ago at linda mar. in fact, there have been plenty of sightings there, maybe you haven’t been surfing long.
the tooth is out there.
the tooth will set you free
speaking of teeth. has anyone ever considered a bluetooth headset for the lineup? I’m thinking that would be great at lindie. I could park my subaru in the lot and leave my phone there but still be close enough to get bluetooth reception.
good or bad idea?
Yeah that would be sweet. A blue tooth as well some sort of water proof blackberry or iphone so you could twitter the conditions one wave at a time while remaining hands-free!
has anyone heard of the “Shark-dar”??
sort of like a radar for sharks. it is a new watch type gadget being developed.
the product designer is also working on the “Poon-dar”. guess what the “Poon-dar” monitors??
