July is beginning just how June ended with a slight to moderate breeze out of the Southwest and crumbling, fumbling surf in the chest to shoulder high range. For the good news, considering the wind, the ocean is actually looking fairly smooth with a slight amount of texture, but in a smooth sandpaper sort of way. The surf is looking rather weak at the moment with mostly sectioned, closed out waves being knocked down by the prize fighting wind. On occasion a little shoulder or two makes an appearance with some rideable potential here and there. To sum it up, if you look up the words “summer at Ocean Beach” it will say “see today”. We have overcast foggy skies, a strong onshore flow and crumbling summer time surf, but rideable in a desperate summer time sort of way. Enjoy the day.
