The film features many women surfing their beloved home breaks (the Dear), such as San Francisco bodysurfer Judith Sheridan formidable waves and Santa Cruz a surfer/shaper Ashley Lloyd who seeks out ecologically sustainable materials available in order to perfect her craft. Other women in the film venture well beyond the comfort of their home breaks to the far reaches of the earth (the Yonder), such as Liz Clark who is single handedly sailing around the world in search of waves and new shores. Explosive top professionals, Sofia Mulanovich, Stephanie Gilmore, Silvana Lima, Coco Ho and others travel to Indonesia and showcase their skills on some of the best waves on earth. Dear & Yonder is further enhanced by a skateboarding segment, which checks in on some serious land shredders including Amy Caron, Letica Buffoni and Elissa Steamer, and honored by the support of the remarkable artists and local musicians that mirror the talent of the women who are featured in the film.  The soundtrack includes music from San Francisco artists Vetiver, Ty Segall, Drift of a Curse, King City, Tussle, Thee Oh Sees and Hey Will Power.  Artist and animator Nathaniel Russell and Lori Damiano collaborated on a creative opening animation and hand crafted titles throughout Dear & Yonder.
