On tap this morning we have overcast skies, a slight breeze out of the South with head high to an occasional set in the 1.5X’s overhead range. The ocean is looking relatively smooth with just a touch of the warbled thing going on, but things are looking fairly clean overall. Both the waves and the paddle are definitely looking a bit on the punishing side of the spectrum with rather stacked up, closed out walls of water rolling in with an occasional fast, head high or so shoulder to snag from time to time. Overall, it’s another one of those right place, right time type of mornings with a rather punishing looking paddle with probably a fun wave or two rolling in from time to time. On a safety note, look for building swell as the day progresses, the SE Papa buoy located 600NM west of Eureka is reading a whopping 29@16! Thus use your common sense and be safe these coming days.
