On this COLD December morning we have a slight breeze out of the Northeast, the ocean is smooth with waist to shoulder high surf with some head high sets breaking away here and there. Considering the rain and wind kept me up last night, I was very surprised to see how smooth things look at the moment. The surf is looking rather clean, with rather inconsistent,  fast little shoulders to snag out there from time to time. However, with the fresh new rains, comes fresh new rain runoff, thus the water quality isn’t exactly clean out there. Overall, the conditions are fair with an occasional fun looking shoulder to snag, but with the fresh rains there is a definite risk vs. reward factor to consider with the rewards looking rather sparse. Also look for building swell throughout the day with the surf predicted to pick up a lot tomorrow.
