Free admission, free food (while it lasts) and DJ Paul spinning soul, funk, reggae, house and breaks. Previous festival surf films and trailers will play on the big screen and Sierra Nevada will donate $1 to the festival for every one of their beers sold.
Now in its seventh year, the San Francisco Ocean Film Festival returns February 3-7 at the Pier 39 Theater to present more than 50 documentary and fictional films from around the world. Following on 2009′s shark program success, this year debuts a Friday evening session showcasing new surf films including the award-winning “Sea of Darkness”, an Indonesian adventure tale recounting the beginnings of the legendary surf charter, the Indies Trader, and the multinational surf company, Quiksilver.
