It’s amazing what you find at the beach any given day. For example, today I found summertime overcast skies, a strong onshore wind, and mostly knee to chest-high crumblies sliding in. If you can deal with being in the onshores, you might find a few shoulders with a floaty board. Another example of something I found, perhaps rarer than clean head-high waves on a summer day in San Francisco, was a surfboard (shortboard thruster) in a beach parking lot.
