We are definitely in those dog days of Summer, and these dogs are not the handsome little well-behaved perfectly-groomed dogs of Westminster. No, these are the stereotypical Latin American city-type of dogs: janky, manky, mangy, disheveled, battle-worn, and barely registering on the life-meter. Yet they are persistent, die-hard, and determined to continue on, day after day. Today’s waves are much the same – up a tad from yesterdays knee-high peelers, to waist-high plus slightly-peeling cheesy crumburgers. Winds have come up a bit too, from yesterday, adding to the fray out there. Still, it’s relatively calm, and a few surfers are out testing the waters with the right boards. And wouldn’t you know, they seem to be having a bit of fun with what they have.
